Jessica

My roommate Jessica!
I think I first really became friends with Jessica and that was because we had Geology class together so we had that time to sit by each other and get to know each other. Eventually that turned into calling each other to have lunch together and now you wouldn't have ever guessed that we weren't friends! She is pretty much my twin and my heart would just about break if I didn't have her there! We have gotten into our own little disputes but the disputes were nothing but fun such as our flour fight! We always yell at each other but we never mean anything harsh by what we say! I love that we will stay up late and talk to each other about the most retarded things but we laugh anyways! I am way lucky to have Jessica as one of my roommates and I am so glad I have her here with me!

Things...

My family is definetly my number one motivator. Being the first one away to college in my family has been kinda hard on me. I don't have my mom waiting for me at home to ask how my day was or if there is anything that she can do to help me. I also don't have any of my siblings there to just hang and talk or my dad to come in to my room in the middle of the night and just talk to me about anything and everything.
The ambassador team. If I did not have my team of ambassadors I think I would just about die. They are just a spectacular group and we get along so well. Not only that but we all look after each other and if anyone needs anything we're always there for the other one. I also have Terry the man over the ambassadors. He takes care of each and everyone of us. He is an amazing man and he takes care of us like we are all his kids. I love the ambassadors

The Gospel. I have never felt so much need for the Lords help and for the need of the Gospel in my life. Not being at home just made it more clearer to me that I not only want the gospel but I NEED the gospel in my life. Being away from my ward family and my own family who would go to church every Sunday just made it more of a habit for me to come to church and to really realize how much I do need it in my life. And not only need it but I love it.So you'll have to ignore the photo, especially since my ward is really nothing like this. I am thankful for my ward though. They are all so nice and even though I don't know everyone in the ward yet but they have all accepted everyone and that is what I appreciated the most. I also have to say my gratitude toward my new bishop: Bishop Dunn. He is one of the greatest men I have known and he reaches out to each and everyone of us. I am way grateful for my ward.

Mathew Colt Stewart

So I decided that my brother who just recently got home off his mission, and by recently I mean last Wednesday, should get a little sunshine in my blog. So off we go :)
I remember the exact day we dropped Matt off at the MTC it was September 24th which was a Wednesday and at 11:00a.m. (I believe since I forgot to bring a skirt and so we had to go buy one and everything was closed at 10 in the morning. Only in Utah really.) I remember taking pictures and then sitting inside their big hall and watching the LDS family commercials. Which I did not think was the best thing since that just made me cry harder when I had to hug him goodbye and walk out one door while he had to walk out another at the opposite side of the room. That day was sad and I remember anything that would remind us of him would make us cry like his tie that he had draped over the couch.
Now after serving the Lord and the beloved people in El Salvador. For being in all the positions you could possibly be in. He has now returned home has an RM. And since he came home on Wednesday of course I wanted to be there when he got off the plane, but I had a couple different problems that were stopping me from going to Vegas. So while I was looking at my Ambassador Calendar I saw that there was a college fair in Vegas so if I could then get a car there would be no money issue and I would be excused from school. It sounded good enough to me so my room mate Jess, my friend Gavin, his friend James and me all headed down to Vegas for the weekend. I surprised them all except my Dad and my little brother. It turned out to be a wonderful weekend with General Conference and just being around my family. We spent time on the strip, drove to Sandy, went to General Conference, drove to Price, and hung out with my brother and friends all night long. I don't have pictures at this moment but I will post them as soon as I do have access to them.
All together I am beyond happy that my brother is home and that he has served a full 24 month mission. I'm glad he was able to serve those he worked with and that he was able to learn so much. I am happy that I will get to see him and that I no longer have to wait every week for his letters. I am also grateful for his letters and his words of wisdom as he would speak and tell me things that I felt I needed to hear.
I love my brother and I can't wait to hear everything he wants to talk about at his homecoming. I love you Matt.
